Miniature loveliness :-)

Ohh I love a good mini book, don't you? A while ago when I managed to get hold of the Eileen Hull Journal Die for Sizzix (*love*), I also ordered the needle book die because I could see its potential as a mini book. Just look how small and cute it is!

Here are a few pics of the early stages ...

I tried out the new DecoArt medium body paints (*another love*).

The house on the front cover is from the Whimsical House Set 1 by Tando Creative. I gave it a layer of black, then applied the DecoArt one-step crackle, and finally a layer of DecoArt Antiquing Cream to enhance the cracks.

I distressed some pages to create the inner pages, and added a funky ceramic button I found in a little art gallery. I might give this to my Mum at Christmas, but I'm not sure if I can part with it (sorry Mum).

So, to compare the size of this little book to the Travellers' notebook site, here they are side by side:

A Vintage Journey - guest post

I was delighted when I was asked to be a guest blogger for Vintage Journey blog, especially when I heard the theme was Mini Marvels - right up my street! I absolutely love anything in miniature -the smaller the better - so this was a really great challenge for me.

I used some wonderful little greyboard pieces to make covers and inner pages for a teeny tiny journal, from a grab bag at Tando Creative which are brilliant for putting together to make concertina journals.

I added lots of luscious colour with DecoArt Fluid Acrylics - you just can't beat these for fabulous depth of colour. I also used their one-step crackle and antiquing cream to create some texture and interest on the front cover.

And then in-between each hard cover I added tiny aged and distressed pages, stitched together to create signatures between each fold.

There are lots of step-by-step photos on the Vintage Journey blog post so please do go and take a look for all of the info :-)

Thanks so much to the team at Vintage Journey for asking me to blog for them this month.

Mini Spiral Journal part 2!

And here it is! Part 2 of my video for Gel Press 'Print to Project' series.

Apologies for the delay ... my computer died! We are now up and running on a new one and fortunately we had been fairly consistent in backing up our computer. Always always do your back ups people!! So now I am in the process of logging  back in to all of my usual sites and trying to remember my passwords ....... arggghhhhh!!

Thanks for patience :-)

Curly wurly spiral journal

Yay! My latest *short* video for the Gel Press 'Print to Project' series is now available! In these videos I make lots of bright bright bright background papers, and then rip 'em up to make this cute little spiral journal. I had so much fun making this :-)

In case you are wondering and in case you want to play along, I got my spool from the Craftrange, Burnley *here*.

Here's part 1 of the video series, and part 2 will follow on Saturday. Thanks for watching!
